Marriage is considered the first and most important stage of the family life cycle and is considered the most important factor in creating a healthy society and a very important phenomenon. The purpose of this research is the effectiveness of pre-marriage educational on ability to resolve conflict of couples applying for marriage. The research method is experimental with a pre-test-post-test and follow-up design. The statistical population of the research includes all people who referred to health and treatment centers for pre-marital counseling in Tehran, who applied for marriage in the first half of 2019. 10 centers were randomly selected and according to the entry criteria (first marriage applicant, age 20 to 40 years, education at least diploma) and exit from the research (Absence of more than three sessions) and taking into account the possibility of dropping subjects, 2 people from each center (10 couples) were selected. The instrument of data collection was Conflict resolution styles questionnaire. To analyze the data Analysis of covariance was used. The results showed that the educational-psychological package before marriage has an effect on the ability to resolve conflict of couples applying for marriage, and this effect is stable and stable in the follow-up phase. According to the results of the research, this training should be used to strengthen the ability to resolve conflict of couples.
