The purpose of this research was to develop a professional model of school counseling in Iran,It was done using thematic analysis which is a qualitative method. First, the country's upstream documents and specialized school counseling texts were analyzed and their themes were obtained. Then the themes of the interviews with school counseling professionals (experts and school counselors) were extracted. The result was 180 sub-themes, 59 main themes and 21 core themes, which were structured as the main axes of the model in four pillars: foundations, management, delivery and accountability. The foundation pillar refers to fundamental educational beliefs and the image of an desired future, The management pillar specifies how and design of program implementation and the needs and methods of implementation of the programs, and gaining the position of the programs and the systematic improvement of education. The delivery pillar determines the coverage of school counseling services and determines the methods of providing school counseling services, the accountability pillar refers the principles and how to evaluate the school counseling and the competencies of the school counseling agents and the conditions for achieving these competencies are specified.The professional model of school counseling tries to create a comprehensive and systematic framework for school counseling activities by using scientific and culture-based theories to provide a platform for nurturing the future generation in academic, occupational, personal-social and religious-ethical fields.
