English

Career is one of the roles that is important for most people in life. But due to the changes that have occurred in today's world, moving through a career requires acquiring skills and a person's perception of their level of mastery of these skills is as important as acquiring the skills. The current research was conducted with the aim of investigating the effectiveness of skill-based career empowerment training on self-perceived employability and career self-management of students. The statistical population of the research included all the undergraduate students of Hazrat-e Masoumeh University in 2023. 30 volunteer female students were selected as the statistical sample for the study. The research method was quasi-experimental in nature with an experimental, control, and follow-up group (one month after the intervention) and was applied in terms of purpose. The Skill-Oriented Career Empowerment Program (Cohen-Scali, 2018) was implemented during 9 sessions (90 minutes each session) for experimental group, and the control group did not receive any intervention. In this research, the Self-Perceived Employability Scale and the Career Self-Management Scale were used as pre-test, post-test and follow-up in the experimental and control group. In order to test the research hypotheses, the analysis of variance test with repeated measurements was used. The research findings showed that the Skill-Based Career Empowerment Intervention Program improved the level of self-perceived employability (F= 0.48, P<0.002) and career self-management (F= 0.61, P< 0.002) in the experimental group students. Also, the results of the pairwise comparison showed that the post-test scores of the dependent variables increased compared to the pre-test and this effect was stable in the follow-up phase. Therefore, considering this type of intervention to improve the employability of students who are on the threshold of transition from education to work and entering the world of business can be effective.
